Unlike infrared sauna, which uses infrared emitters, a traditional sauna heats the surrounding air and sauna stones.
As the environment becomes hotter, the body responds by increasing circulation to the skin and producing sweat to help regulate temperature.
The intention at House of Strong is simple:
Heat. Recover. Return.
FAQs
What is a traditional sauna?
A traditional sauna uses a heater and sauna stones to warm the surrounding air, gradually raising the temperature of the body.
Rather than using infrared panels, the experience is created through high ambient heat, stillness and time.
Is the traditional sauna safe?
Traditional sauna is generally well tolerated by healthy adults when used appropriately.
Hydrate before and after your session and leave the sauna if you feel dizzy, lightheaded or unwell.
Guests who are pregnant, have cardiovascular concerns, take medications that may affect heat tolerance, or have another medical condition should consult their healthcare provider before sauna use.
How long is a typical session?
Estate recovery sessions are 15 minutes.
The goal is not to endure the heat for as long as possible. Begin where your body feels comfortable and allow the experience to support recovery rather than becoming another performance.
What are the immediate effects I may notice after a session?
You may notice warmth, physical relaxation and a sense of slowing down.
During sauna use, heart rate and blood flow to the skin can increase as the body regulates temperature. Afterward, the experience can create a natural transition from movement and effort into rest.
How often should I use the sauna?
There is no single frequency that is right for everyone.
Sauna can be used occasionally as part of a recovery day or incorporated more regularly depending on your comfort, experience and individual health considerations.
Consistency matters more than treating sauna as something to push through.
What should I wear during the session?
Wear minimal, breathable clothing or appropriate swimwear.
Remove shoes before entering and use a towel for comfort and hygiene.
Can I combine sauna with other House of Strong experiences?
Yes.
Traditional sauna can be paired with Structural Sculpt, Blueprint or compression recovery.
Allow time to hydrate and transition between experiences, particularly after a movement session.
How does traditional sauna compare with infrared sauna?
Traditional sauna heats the air and sauna stones around you, creating a hot ambient environment.
Infrared sauna uses infrared emitters designed to transfer radiant heat more directly.
The Estate currently offers a traditional sauna experience, not infrared.
